In the 2023, the city of New York becomes one giant fingerprint scanner. Touch a guard rail, and "The Grid" can monitor your movements. Open a door, and The Grid has you tracked there as well. It's a new way of policing the people — until two sets of the exact same fingerprint show up in different places at once. Check out the trailer for the short film Plurality, directed by Dennis Liu and written by Ryan Condal of Hercules.

After the state of New York gives the police access to "The Grid," a new technology that allows people to purchase anything with a quick scan of their fingerprint, crime drops almost instantly. However, they also discover that certain people are popping up in two places at once.

Fan Film: StarWars The Old Republic

This is an astonishingly good Star Wars fan film. Remember the original cinematic intro "Hope", well some incredibly talented fans created the entire thing, shot for shot, but in real life. It completely blows my mind that a fan could put something like this together in his spare time when the technology to create the relatively primitive effects in the original Star Wars trilogy have only been around for thirty-five years or so. It make you wonder what sort of things our grandkids will be cobbling together thirty years down the road.

Star Wars Uncut: Director's Cut

In 2009, Casey Pugh asked thousands of Internet users to remake "Star Wars: A New Hope" into a fan film, 15 seconds at a time. Contributors were allowed to recreate scenes from Star Wars however they wanted. Within just a few months SWU grew into a wild success. The creativity that poured into the project was unimaginable.

SWU has been featured in documentaries, news features and conferences around the world for its unique appeal. In 2010 we won a Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Creative Achievement In Interactive Media.

Finally, the crowd-sourced project has been stitched together and put online for your streaming pleasure. The "Director's Cut" is a feature-length film that contains hand-picked scenes from the entire StarWarsUncut.com collection.

Short Film: Mobius

Mobius is a gripping short film by Vincent Laforet about “a photojournalist who stumbles upon a cartel execution and supernatural events in the the ‘Zone of Silence’ in Mexico”. Here’s a 1080p HQ version and behind-the-scenes footage.

Canon commissioned Vincent to shoot the the film to promote their new C300 Cinema EOS Camera.

Jacques had listened intently to the stories that had crossed the ocean, extraordinary tales of mystical creatures and unknown forces. Black Goat finds Jacques mid-hunt, as he closes in on what others thought was a legend. What he doesn't realize is that the legend is on a hunt of its own.

Loom tells the story of a successful catch. It took a year to create this five and a half minutes of computer graphics, but the results are amazing.

A moth being caught in a spiders web. Struggling for an escape, the moths panic movements only result in less chance of survival. What follows is the type of causality everyone's expecting. The spider appears, claims its prey and feeds on it. The way nature works. But it's the point of view that creates an intense relationship between the hunter and its victim. There is much more to explore, much more to feel if one takes the time to really experience the content of a split second.

It’s refreshing to see a production take the prospect of a zombie musical seriously. It's production value is higher than you might expect. A cut above the last Bruce Campbell film I saw, in fact, but it's still hilariously over-the-top.
